Steven brings a wealth of international business experience to LINK.
With a twenty five year background in the Logistics and Aviation industry (twenty of them owning and running his own companies) Steven is well placed to assist clients in achieving their ambitions for the purchase and sale of businesses, with a particular focus on the market sector of values between $1m-$10m in the Bay of Plenty / Waikato and the central North Island.
Steven has a vast wealth of experience in complex contract negotiation and has worked in some of the most demanding environments throughout Russia and Africa, in addition to holding Senior Management positions in the USA, Middle East and Western Europe. Over the past 20+ years he enjoyed success in various other business ventures including property, retail, import / export and tourism.
Steven is an extremely successful entrepreneur who has extensive knowledge and experience in a wide range of industry sectors who has managed and successfully sold a number of his own businesses with multi-million dollar turnovers.
A brief summary of Stevens’s business career over the last twenty years:
2009 – 2013 – Co-Owner and Managing Director Link Bay of Plenty / Waikato. During the last 4 years Link Bay of Plenty / Waikato has grown to become the largest specialised business brokerage company (outside of Auckland) in the North Island and Steven was recently voted 2013 “Link NZ Business Broker of the year in addition to the branch winning 2013 Franchise of the year.
1993-2007 – Founder & Managing Director of a pioneering, niche logistics company specialising in providing multi-national Oil and Gas organisations transportation solutions to remote oil field sites throughout Russia and the CIS countries – The business was successfully sold in 2007.
1999-2007 – Founder and Director of an aviation procurement business providing exclusive sales and service support to an award winning airline. Steven was instrumental in the negotiation of the sale of various multi-million dollar passenger aircraft.
1999-2000 Founder and Director of a revolutionary logistics / IT business which was successfully sold within 6 months of foundation for a multi-million dollar sum. The company was sold to an organisation which promoted this business as one of its flagship companies for their float on the UK AIM Stock exchange which raised the equivalent of $150m NZD. Steven along with a co-director managed the business of 60+ staff.
Outside of work Steven is still a keen sportsman – The rugby days may be over but he still has a passion for the outdoors and currently enjoys a multitude of sports including road and mountain biking, trekking, fishing and boot camp classes.
Steven is a very proud family man who has been married for 18 years and has two young daughters aged 11 and 8. For the past two years Steven has been a volunteer with Age Concern in Tauranga.
