Maria Morris was born in England and raised in the Philippines. She studied in St. Scholastica’s College for grade school and high school. She went to college in the University of Santo Tomas where she took up Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design.
She started working in marketing for a group of companies in the export business of marine products dealing with clients mainly from Japan and Europe. This is where she learned customer care with mainly foreign clients and involvement in negotiating contracts with them. In between she would have several design projects before settling down for many years to be a homemaker. During those years she would involve herself in the “buy and sell” market of varied products from clothes, art pieces, even design and sell custom jewelry. She also worked in sales for a real estate brokerage company & also became an information agent for offshore products.
Upon becoming a single mom, she went into financial services under, All State which eventually became part of Pru-Life of UK. She would also carry other products such as Blue Cross/Pacific Cross health insurance which she still offers to date. During those years she would continue on disseminating information about varied offshore products which she eventually focused on. Years later, she went back to Insurance under Insular Life, always believing in the importance of protecting ones loved ones.
She’s self taught in layout & graphic design and gets commissioned from time to time to do some projects. Many times, as her civic contribution. She has been active in civic work mainly with Zonta since 1996 where she served as president in year 2000-2002 & has remained a director since.
